Overview
The Production Supervisor oversees staff to produce manufactured products, organizing and monitoring workflows. This role has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: Houston, TX, Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and build effective teams in a positive work environment through strong leadership practices.
  2. Manage operational resources to optimize performance and achieve departmental, functional, and organizational goals.
  3. Support process improvement activities aligned with department goals and objectives.
  4. Drive lean implementation and employee involvement.
  5. Maintain high-quality production standards and promote continuous improvement.
  6. Conduct daily safety and work group updates (e.g., toolbox talks).
  7. Analyze and supervise assemblies and fabrication, oversee new job setups, troubleshoot machine malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments.
  8. Report shift results comprehensively, including employee hours, machine issues, and material shortages, to facilitate shift-to-shift communication.
  9. Ensure proper charging of time to tasks in the ERP system.
  10. Support employee safety training, PPE compliance, and safety protocols.
  11. Provide job induction for new hires and contractors.
  12. Coordinate manufacturing schedules with Planning and Purchasing.
  13. Hold daily meetings with employees and supervisors to ensure effective communication.
  14. Evaluate employee performance against production standards.
  15. Verify and approve employee time in the ADP system, and update schedules accordingly.
  16. Promote health and safety attitudes through active involvement and behavior.
  17. This is a working supervisor role; clock in to jobs as required.
  18. Participate in employee performance reviews and provide feedback to the manager.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Critical Competencies

  • Associate's Degree preferred (mechanical or technical), or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean training and 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  • Overhead crane and forklift operation skills required.
  • Experience with rigging heavy parts required.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 15 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual abilities include close, far, and depth perception, with or without corrective lenses.
