Job summary

DeKalb Health is seeking a production machine operator to take direction from a supervisor to achieve daily production goals. The role requires rotating to multiple machines to learn basic functions and to operate and set up equipment in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment.

Responsibilities include startup/shutdown procedures, troubleshooting, quality inspection, boxing/packaging, and maintaining a clean, compliant workspace with adherence to food safety programs and GMPs.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate and set up production machines.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
• Able to work in refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily setup and operation of assigned machines, including learning start up and shut down procedures, troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
• Participate as an active team member of production in assigned area.
• Handle unfinished and finished product, boxing and packaging, transporting to and from the production line, inspect product for quality and defects, adjust machine settings as needed, clean and sanitize workstations.
