Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to drive a multi-shift operation, oversee Production Supervisors, and meet daily targets in a diverse workforce. You will interpret policies, optimize yields, and plan capacity for future growth, ensuring compliance and safety.

The role emphasizes leadership, continuous improvement, and a focus on plant efficiency, with opportunities to contribute to strategic production initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project, required.
• Experience using a variety of computer applications, including time-keeping systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office programs, to streamline processes and enhance productivity across the team.
• Open to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Drive Operational Efficiency & Profitability: monitor daily yields, efficiencies, and profitability while managing staffing and production schedules to meet customer needs.
• Champion Safety & Ergonomics: train employees on safe work practices and address hazards for an injury-free workplace.
• Ensure Quality & Compliance: uphold sanitation, product quality, and customer service standards, ensuring USDA and company compliance.
• Lead Training & Continuous Improvement: train supervisors and employees; drive CI initiatives to boost performance and plant efficiency.
• Leadership & Guidance: provide strong leadership on the production floor to foster a collaborative, productive environment.
