Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; college diploma preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Minimum three years as a Shift Supervisor.
• Self-motivated with initiative and minimal supervision.
• Strong grasp of process fundamentals and quick learning of operation nuances.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and technical skills.
• Ability to absorb, organize and recall detailed information.
• Ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, and inspire others.
• Credibility and interpersonal skills are crucial; maintain professional conduct.
• Ability to lead and influence others; mentoring skills are important.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily shift changeover meetings to set goals, safety, and duty readiness.
• Ensure direct reports comply with EHS, quality, and HR policies.
• Assign, supervise, and review hourly personnel performance.
• Implement production plans per schedules and monitor outcomes.
• Maintain records of process variables and equipment status.
• Verify shop packs, track earned hours, and ensure accuracy.
• Prepare daily equipment status and shift reports.
• Identify problems in progress and direct remedial actions as needed.
• Submit maintenance work orders and report scheduling issues.
• Support planning with feedback on delays and rescheduling.
• Evaluate new employee performance and provide recommendations.
• Conduct performance appraisals for department staff.
• Provide onboarding and hazard training to new hires.
• Support operator qualification programs and timely training documentation.
• Participate in safety teams and report incidents and near-misses.
• Carry out duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
