Job summary

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) in Tucson, AZ is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead the hourly workforce under the Operations Manager, ensuring safe operations, meeting customer demands, and solving problems on the production floor.

Responsibilities include directing workflow, coaching operators, identifying throughput gaps, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with EHS, planning, and vendors to maintain quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in manufacturing with supervisory experience.
• Familiar with a variety of manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• ITAR eligibility and US work authorization are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and leads workflow on the production floor to meet daily production goals.
• Provides direction to meet company goals.
• Identifies gaps and opportunities to increase throughput and prevent downtime or bottlenecks in production.
• Actively leads production team in product and process improvement.
• Solves problems to their root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Reviews daily time and attendance tracking of employees; ensuring adequate staffing levels for shifts.
• Facilitates compliance with safety, housekeeping, attendance policies and practices.
• Addresses interpersonal conflict issues with the team to maintain a professional work environment; performing counseling and progressive discipline as needed.
• Troubleshoots manufacturing issues.
• Provides direction to operators and makes recommendations for coaching and counseling action.
• Participates in hiring decisions regarding operators.
• Investigates accidents or near misses that occur with the Safety Manager.
