Job summary

Danfoss Power Solutions Team in Ames, IA is hiring a 2nd Shift Process Technician (Assembly Team) to manage assembly from set-up to testing. You will monitor and troubleshoot equipment powering hydrostatic pumps, motors, and components.

You will support line operations, implement process improvements, and work with engineering, maintenance and other functions to enhance safety and quality.

Qualifications

• AA degree or technical school with 6 months related experience.
• Desire for a 4-year degree in relevant engineering fields.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Familiarity with quality tools (PPAP, PFMEA, Gauge R&R, 8D, Fishbone).
• Computer skills including Office, PLCs, CAD modeling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment in assembly.
• Provide line support and escalate manufacturing issues affecting safety and quality.
• Troubleshoot daily issues and reduce recurrence with training and visuals.
• Assist in implementing process changes and shop-floor problem solving.
• Gather data, time studies, and communicate ideas to improve results.
• Help design and implement manufacturing controls, like Poka-Yokes.
• Lead or assist on tactical implementation projects.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers, Maintenance, Controls and other teams.
