Job summary

Danfoss in Ames, IA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift to install, repair and maintain production equipment across the plant. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems and work with robotics, CNC machines, and automated components to keep lines running.

The role requires reading schematics and blueprints, operating test equipment, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
2 years hands-on experience in industrial maintenance.
Ability to read electrical/hydraulic drawings, schematics and engineering blueprints to determine root causes.
Ability to read precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, levels, and lasers.
Strong computer skills.
Familiar with fieldbus systems and safety standards; able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems to the faulty component.
Observe and test the operation of machinery to diagnose malfunctions with test equipment like volt meters and Megger.
Analyze test results and operator input to diagnose equipment problems.
Repair and maintain Fanuc/ABB Robotics and CNC Machines including Mazak/Makino Centers.
Replace faulty modules and field components.
Install and maintain hydraulic circuits in industrial equipment.
Repair and maintain operating condition of production equipment and test stands.
Automation troubleshooting including AC/DC motors, motor starters and VFDs.
Repair inventory and QC systems hardware like RFID and dot matrix printers.
Follow all safety rules and PPE standards.
