Job summary

Schultes Precision in Buffalo Grove, IL is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate mills or lathes on 1st or 2nd shift. The role emphasizes precision, adherence to tolerances, and setting up machines for high-quality parts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating CNC Mills or Lathes.
• Experience with precision measurement instruments.
• Basic understanding of G/M codes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and/or operate CNC Mills or Lathes to machine parts to specification.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain part accuracy.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Perform basic program edits on CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, or similar).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
• Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
