Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Pit Loader Operator at the Lacey’s Spring Quarry in Lacey’s Spring, AL. The role reports to the Plant Manager and emphasizes safety, quality, and revenue generation across operations.

The position offers a starting wage of $26.00/hr with a $3.00 night shift differential, a 2nd shift from 3:00PM to 12:00AM, full-time permanence, and overtime with medical and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as production requires.
• Self-starter and able to work without close supervision.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Previous mining experience preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train and assist in other areas.

Responsibilities

• Learn and uphold Rogers Group safety principles without compromise.
• Operate front-end loader to move and load rock and materials safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a consistent plant feed while minimizing downtime and spills.
• Perform plant maintenance and cleanup as needed.
• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections and report issues.
• Assist with haul roads, loading areas, and stockpiles for safe traffic flow.
• Communicate with plant operator, haul truck drivers, and pit personnel via radios and signals.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Rogers Group is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Pit Loader Operator at our Lacey’s Spring Quarry in Lacey’s Spring, AL, part of the Alabama SMA, reporting to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Details:

• Starting wage of $26.00/hr + $3.00 night shift differential
• 2nd Shift (3:00PM-12:00AM)
• Fulltime/Permanent
• Weekend work may be required
• Overtime available along with medical and retirement benefits

Job Responsibilities:

• Learning and understanding our safety culture and implementing all of Rogers Group’s safety principles without compromise
• Operate front-end loader to move and load shot rock, crushed stone, or overburden safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a consistent feed to the plant/crusher while minimizing downtime and spillage.
• Plant maintenance and clean up when needed
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues or needed repairs.
• Assist with maintaining haul roads, loading areas, and stockpiles to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Communicate effectively with the plant operator, haul truck drivers, and other pit personnel using radios and hand signals.
• May be called upon at the discretion of the supervisor in charge to perform any other duties assigned and/or to assist with other areas as necessary

• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as production requires. Overtime is not promised.
• Self-starter/ ability to work without close supervision
• Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift/move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Previous experience working in mining environment preferred
• Willingness to cross-train and assist in other areas of the operation as needed.
