Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. seeks a 2nd Shift Utility Heavy Equipment Operator for the Red Bay Quarry in Red Bay, AL. The role reports to the Plant Manager and emphasizes safe, efficient operation of heavy equipment and adherence to quality standards.

Wages depend on experience with a $3.00 night shift differential. This is a full-time, permanent position with potential overtime, medical and retirement benefits.

Responsibilities

• 1–2yrs experience as a Wheel Loader Operator preferred.
• Perform daily pre and post inspections with documentation per policy.
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained by management.
• Operate equipment with competency, skill and proficiency.
• Perform plant ground operations/maintenance as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA/MSHA/environmental regulations.

Rogers Group is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Utility Heavy Equipment Operator for our Red Bay Quarry in Red Bay, AL, part of the Alabama SMA, reporting to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Details:

• Wages dependent on verifiable experience
• 2nd Shift (3:00PM-12:00AM)
• $3.00 night shift differential
• Fulltime/Permanent
• Weekend work may be required
• Overtime available along with medical and retirement benefits

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment (Skid Steer, Wheel Loader, Dozer and/or Excavator) and machinery.
• 1 – 2yrs Experience as a Wheel Loader Operator highly preferred
• Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
• Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
• Perform plant ground operations/maintenance as needed
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience operating wheel loader is preferred
• Previous quarry experience is preferred
• Ability to perform safety and maintenance inspections throughout the day
• Capable of demonstrating equipment and troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens is preferred
• Ability to understand basic safety and work instruction
• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
• Good organizational, scheduling and time management skills
• Welding experience is helpful along with general maintenance and repair abilities
• Experience in heavy equipment operation a plus but not required
• Team player mentality
• Working outdoors in varied weather conditions with the probability of dust, noise, heat, and cold
