Job description

Job Title: 2nd Shift Packaging Supervisor

Location: Dyersburg, TN

Reporting To: Operations Manager of Packaging

Employment Type: Full-Time Salary

Hours: 2 pm to 11 pm

Position Summary

The 2nd Shift Packaging Supervisor is responsible for leading packaging operations at the Huish location, ensuring the highest safety standards, efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role directly manages work orders and supports team leads who oversee packaging teams. The Supervisor is expected to drive operational excellence through hands-on leadership, efficient team management, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
    • Train and develop employees across various plant areas to promote versatility and performance.
    • Maintain professional communication and foster a positive work environment.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient packing, sealing, labeling, and documentation of products.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Enforce company policies, workplace safety regulations, and operational procedures.
    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all teams.
    • Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure proper material handling practices.
  • Hands-On Leadership:
    • Actively work alongside the team when necessary to ensure shift goals are met.
    • Demonstrate full understanding and ability to perform all roles being supervised.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or packaging operations.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of reliability, integrity, and work ethic.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage extended hours when needed.
  • Safety-conscious with a commitment to fostering a safe work environment.

Conditions of Employment
