Job summary

Fortress Nutrition is seeking reliable Packaging Line Operators to run packaging equipment, perform real-time quality checks, and collaborate with the production team to ensure products meet customer specifications. This role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

The position is on 2nd shift with Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM-2:30 AM, plus three-day weekends. Optional overtime offers opportunities for double pay, and weekend work is paid at double rate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of experience in food manufacturing with knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and allergen controls.
• Ability to perform basic shop math.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
• Able to work in an environment with food allergens, dry powder, dust, and wet conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain packaging equipment and related machinery (fillers, sealers, x-ray systems, metal detectors, scales, coders).
• Make equipment adjustments to meet specifications.
• Perform real-time quality checks (visual bag inspections, seal integrity, coding verification, weight checks).
• Complete MMRs and production records following Good Documentation Practices.
• Monitor equipment and product flow to address faults or slowdowns.
• Identify and address equipment issues promptly.
• Report production concerns to the Production Supervisor or Lead.
• Follow GMPs, food-safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Support overtime or weekend work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
