Job summary

WORKFORCE Employment Specialists, LLC in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks an assembler to build and test instruments and optics and related sub-assemblies to engineering specifications under supervision.

Responsibilities include reading assembly drawings and work instructions, calibrating and reworking components, maintaining 5S, Kanban and inventory accuracy, and helping train other associates; strong hand‑eye coordination and dexterity are essential, with ESD and 4E tests targeted at 85% and above.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; electronics certificate preferred.
• 3-6 months assembly experience preferred.
• Computer experience and basic keyboard functions required.
• Ability to learn and use X-Rite tools and programs.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
• Stand/walk up to 80% of the day.
• Able to read assembly drawings and work instructions; familiar with tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, calibrate, test, and rework instruments, optics, and sub-assemblies per standard work documents.
• Maintain quality by tagging scrap and reporting issues; ensure inventory accuracy with Kanban.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality and Support staff to improve product quality and efficiency.
• Train other associates on lines you are trained on when needed.
