Job summary

Thorlabs in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking an hourly production technician to assemble and test opto-electronic instruments containing precision optical, mechanical, and electronic components. You will be a key member of our LEAN manufacturing operation and support the growth of a new manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include reading assembly drawings and instructions, soldering and wirebonding tiny components, performing inspections, maintaining safety, and training new staff.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in assembly or production environment.
• Soldering electronic parts on PCBs required fine pitch SMT.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and instructions.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test optical, electrical, and mechanical components.
• Perform precise soldering and de-soldering of small electronic parts.
• Meet production timelines and quality standards.
• Train new employees on assembly and testing procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment and support LEAN processes.
