Job summary

Alianza is seeking a dependable 2nd Shift MIG Welder in Gastonia, NC to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components using MIG welding techniques. You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and ensure quality and safety standards while supporting a collaborative production team.

The ideal candidate has experience with welding symbols and manual welding, can follow established procedures, and maintain a clean, organized work area on the 2nd shift (5:30 PM – 4:00 AM, Monday–Thursday).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical or vocational welding training is a plus.
• Previous welding or metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with welding equipment, consumables, nozzles, tips, and basic equipment maintenance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform work accurately while maintaining production and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding to fabricate, assemble, or repair metal components.
• Read blueprints and welding symbols to complete tasks.
• Set up and operate welding equipment with appropriate tools and consumables.
• Inspect materials before welding to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Inspect welds and perform adjustments to meet quality standards.
• Maintain welding equipment and report any issues.
• Follow PPE and safety policies.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules and quality targets.
• Maintain an organized work area and report shortages.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
