Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead shift operations at our Wichita, Kansas site. You will oversee safety, quality, productivity, and labor efficiency while directing manpower, material flow, and process improvements to maximize efficiency.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and several years of manufacturing leadership, with a strong focus on Lean, 6S, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing leadership or supervision.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, 6S, CI and waste elimination.
• Familiarity with SEAL safety program and PEAK CI approach.
• Experience with labor planning, scheduling, material management, scrap reduction, and performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Observe and enforce safety policies and SEAL program.
• Drive operational excellence via PEAK CI initiatives.
• Uphold company values and code of conduct.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas per 6S standards.
• Lead shift operations focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and profitability.
• Plan, schedule, and allocate manpower to meet production needs.
• Monitor staffing and adjust support to demand and overtime.
• Manage material availability and flow to minimize shortages and waste.
• Reduce scrap through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure quality controls prevent nonconforming parts on the line.
• Coordinate color changes, changeovers, and startup activities.
• Promote Lean, 6S, Kaizen, and related improvements; collaborate with other teams.
• Collect and communicate daily production metrics (safety, quality, downtime, productivity).
• Lead daily shift meetings and cascade objectives and priorities.
• Maintain schedules and accountability for production targets."
• Ensure facilities and equipment operate safely; coordinate with maintenance and engineering."
• Develop employees through coaching, training, and cross-training.
• Maintain skills matrices and training plans for the team.
• Foster a positive, engaged work environment; enforce policies.
