Job summary

The Hershey Company in Bethlehem, PA is hiring a Maintenance Technician to uphold and repair facilities, equipment, and systems for smooth production operations. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical repair work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machines, troubleshooting using testing instruments, and fabricating repair parts. Overtime may be required; strong reading of schematics is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 2–3 years experience as a maintenance technician in manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems efficiently and perform effective repairs.
• Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, production machines, and related equipment.
• Locate sources of problems by observing devices in operation and using testing instruments.
• Control downtime by following preventive maintenance procedures and monitoring compliance.
• Fabricate repair parts using shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Provide maintenance information by answering questions and documenting actions.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Work on mechanical and electrical repair in a manufacturing setting, including 3‑phase motors, pneumatics, and VFDs.
• Operate with HMI and PLC controls.
