Job summary

HES Facilities in Joliet, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician (5089) to perform repair work on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and related equipment. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday–Friday 3 PM–11:30 PM, with responsibilities including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and documenting work orders.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and building systems, operate general maintenance tools, and coordinate with the Facility Manager and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in educational settings.
Ability to read blueprints and repair manuals; familiar with building systems.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment and notify leadership of major failures.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
Inspect, operate and test machinery; document maintenance work and purchases.
Assist with equipment maintenance and minor carpentry, painting and floor work.
