Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for 2nd shift in Durham, NC. The role supports Facilities & Maintenance by performing preventive maintenance, inspections, basic repairs, and handling work orders for facility systems and production support equipment.

You will work under the Maintenance Supervisor to help ensure safe, reliable, and audit-ready operations. Requirements include a high school diploma, basic tools, CMMS experience, and strong teamwork

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade training preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Proficient with common hand and power tools used in facility maintenance.
• Basic computer skills; able to use CMMS/work order system.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work requests and maintenance calls with urgency.
• Complete preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and basic repairs.
• Document work, parts used, and follow-up needs in the CMMS.
• Inspect facilities for unsafe conditions and reliability concerns.
• Assist with equipment moves, setup, and parts handling as directed.
