Job summary

Sharon Tube Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Rochelle, IL. You will repair and rebuild tube mill production equipment, maximize uptime and yield, and follow strict safety procedures.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy manufacturing maintenance, strong electrical/PLC knowledge, and the ability to read schematics and operate CMMS systems. We offer competitive pay and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a heavy manufacturing maintenance role.
• Proficiency with hand/power tools, precision measuring devices and drawings.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; PLC familiarity.
• Ability to pass drug screening and employment physical.
• Good English communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on equipment, following safety procedures incl. LOTO.
• Ensure guards and safety equipment are in place before operation resumes.
• Monitor parts, equipment, and supplies; place orders and verify receipts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics for repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality issues; escalate when needed.
• Carry out breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance and changeovers.
• Identify safety/quality issues and report to supervisors as needed.
• Observe equipment in operation and diagnose with precision instruments.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools; maintain clean work area.
• Comply with OSHA standards and promote health and safety culture.
