RM Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Our products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with approximately 600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor will direct all functions of the maintenance workforce for their assigned shift, ensuring efficient manufacturing process capabilities, adherence to safety and quality standards, and effective team leadership.

Maintenance Supervisor Duties

1. Provide daily supervisory leadership to the hourly maintenance workforce, and oversee any necessary onsite maintenance contractor coordination.
2. Assign jobs to team members and track progress.
3. Assist in diagnosing and correcting machinery and equipment malfunctions.
4. Contribute to developing cost-effective preventative maintenance procedures to extend equipment lifespan.
5. Maintain communication with the maintenance team and conduct regular shift meetings to foster good employee relations.
6. Enforce safety policies through inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
7. Document maintenance activities accurately using the CMMS system, including repairs, parts, and inspections.
8. Analyze downtime trends and track maintenance metrics to improve plant performance.
9. Lead and assist in implementing reliability improvements using TPM, Lean, Autonomous Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and other tools, including leading change initiatives.

Requirements

Experience & Education

• B.S. Degree in Asset Reliability, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of maintenance or production supervision in food manufacturing required.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma, TPM, 5-S, preferred.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and Problem-Solving methods (DMAIC, 5-Why, A3), preferred.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance CMMS systems, preferred.
