Job summary

A manufacturing organization that specializes in packaging solutions is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join the Maintenance Department and support production operations in Poughkeepsie, NY. The successful candidate will bring strong mechanical and electrical skills and a proactive approach to safety and quality.

You will perform routine maintenance on packaging machines, inspect equipment, set up machines for production runs, troubleshoot issues, and help maintain facilities and HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and plant construction.
• Experience with heavy equipment repair and facilities maintenance.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and manual machining skills.
• Able to meet physical requirements including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on packaging machines, liquid fill pumps, and related equipment.
• Conduct machine safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Set up machines for production runs, including palletizers, conveyor systems, and pelletizer machines.
• Utilize troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Maintain facilities and HVAC systems to ensure optimal working conditions.
