Summary

• The overall role of a Mechanic is to ensure that all machines and equipment in the facility are working properly and safe to operate.
• They perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to minimize machine downtime.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure that all machines and equipment in the facility are working properly and safe to operate.
• Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair the equipment.
• Build gearboxes.
• Have knowledge of each part to communicate with suppliers effectively.
• Keep downtime minimal and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and tools.
• Order necessary parts for machine operation if needed.

Qualifications

• Must have their own tools.
• Knowledge in electrical installation, troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to operate Lathe, End Mill Machine, Drill Press, Surface Grinders, Grinders, Sanders, Hand Tools, CNC Machines, Cutting Torch, Welding Machines, and Brake Presses.
• Strong work ethic, good communication skills, capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and ability to read and write.

Education And/Or Experience

• At least 5 years of experience with high-tech machines.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• High school/GED or Trade school in machines.
• Military experience recognized in lieu of education/experience.

Mathematical Skills

• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions to decimals.
• Ability to use and read tape measures, calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measurement tools.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for 8+ hours/day.
• Walking 4-6 hours/day.
• Various body positions: sitting, standing, walking.
• Grasping with both hands, up to 8 hours/day.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and bending.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing facility with exposure to heat and cold.
• Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.
• Controlled noise exposure.
• High activity level with continuous movement.
