Job summary

Aapstaff is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for first and second shifts in Illinois to service food production equipment including grinders, mixers, extruders, ovens and wrapping machines. You will perform inspections, repairs, calibrations, and preventive maintenance to support production goals.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLC controls, reading schematics, maintaining records, and ensuring food safety and quality through reliable equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Carry out daily inspections and emergency repairs on production equipment.
• Read schematics, diagrams and manuals to diagnose issues.
• Develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and parts inventory.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, and routine adjustments; follow preventive maintenance schedule.
• Read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot AC & DC motor controls and related equipment.
• Develop preventive maintenance plan to keep production equipment in good condition.
• Maintain documentation and manage parts inventory; ensure food safety and quality goals.
• Collaborate with team to meet productivity and cost targets.
