Job summary

Materion is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-11:00pm) in Newton, MA. You will follow standard operating procedures to operate power tools and production equipment to process tantalum and niobium scrap and powder.

You will set up and operate jaw crusher, tornado mill, blending equipment, the 1,500t press, and related melt shop processes. Basic measurement with micrometers and calipers, plus strong safety practices, are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of experience related production experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic math and measuring skills required.
• Ability to read specifications and use measuring instruments.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Blends and samples incoming powder products.
• Sets up and operates jaw crusher, tornado mill and blending equipment.
• Sets up and operates scrap processing equipment.
• Sets up and operates 1,500t press.
• Ensure safety practices and PPE compliance; maintain clean work area.
