Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-11:00pm) to process tantalum and niobium scrap and powder. You will follow SOPs and operate power tools and production equipment to drive efficient fabrication in the Melt Shop.

The role emphasizes safety, proper use of measuring tools, and the ability to multitask across multiple processing lines. Experience with mechanical systems is a plus, with opportunities to grow within a precision metals environment.

Qualifications

• High School or Vocational School Diploma and/or GED required.
• 0-2 years of experience related production in manufacturing.
• Basic math skills required to perform functions.
• Understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).
• Good communication skills, follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude; machining experience a plus.
• May require use of fork trucks, overhead cranes and hand tools; may obtain licenses and lockout/tagout certification.
• Ability to keep neat and accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Blends and samples incoming powder products.
• Sets up and operates jaw crusher, tornado mill and blending equipment.
• Sets up and operates scrap processing equipment.
• Sets up and operates 1,500t press.
• Multitask and learn other Melt Shop areas.
• Follow safety PPE and environment policies.
• Understand specifications and use measuring instruments with assistance.
• Identify problems and seek assistance to resolve.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area following 5S practices.
