Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Plainfield, IN, is seeking a Logistics Supervisor for the 2nd shift (Outbound) to oversee transportation and customs processes, and to provide superior customer service for shipments, receipts and documentation in accordance with federal and foreign regulations.

You will supervise staff, develop performance metrics, ensure accuracy of bills of lading and invoices, compute duties and tariffs, and implement policies for customs clearance.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, minimum four years related experience, and one year supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics or related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency with ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping is a plus.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and general software applications.
• Characteristics: Strong problem solving, reporting, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
• Provide supervision and control for all departmental activities and assist in staff and customer training.
• Oversee performance statistics, review shipment documentation for accuracy, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume for imported/exported goods; liaise with customs.
• Establish and monitor policies for customs clearance operations; ensure consistent administration.
• Identify areas of concern in import/export processes via audits and client reviews.
• Communicate with operations manager about progress; maintain flexible hours and on-call rotation.
• Participate in or supervise department projects related to the area of responsibility.
