Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in Lancaster, PA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will interpret schematics, service motors and drives, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have a strong electrical background, PLC troubleshooting, and experience with servo controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong electrical background including AC/DC motor and drive troubleshooting.
• PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Servo motor controls (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
• Ability to read European and U.S. electrical schematics.
• Mechanical repair experience (bearings, seals, gears, belts, pneumatic systems).
• Ability to operate computer-based monitoring and control systems.
• Ability to lift/move 50+ lbs with assistance and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts in a continuous-run environment.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to complete pre-task analysis forms.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to restore equipment performance.
• Interpret European and U.S. electrical schematics to diagnose issues.
• Repair AC/DC motors, drives, servo systems, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and calibrate equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records on schedule.
• Collaborate with maintenance leadership to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying root causes and improving reliability.
• Uphold Smurfit WestRock values in all work performed.
