Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in Lancaster, PA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will interpret schematics, service motors and drives, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have a strong electrical background, PLC troubleshooting, and experience with servo controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong electrical background including AC/DC motor and drive troubleshooting.
• PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Servo motor controls (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
• Ability to read European and U.S. electrical schematics.
• Mechanical repair experience (bearings, seals, gears, belts, pneumatic systems).
• Ability to operate computer-based monitoring and control systems.
• Ability to lift/move 50+ lbs with assistance and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts in a continuous-run environment.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to complete pre-task analysis forms.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to restore equipment performance.
• Interpret European and U.S. electrical schematics to diagnose issues.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to quickly restore equipment performance.

• Interpret European and U.S. electrical schematics to diagnose issues and guide repairs.

• Repair AC/DC motors, drives, servo systems, and PLC?controlled equipment to maintain reliable operations.

• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime, including inspections, lubrication, part replacement, and calibration.

• Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

• Collaborate with maintenance leadership and team members to complete repairs safely and efficiently.

• Support continuous improvement by identifying root causes, recommending solutions, and enhancing equipment reliability.

What You Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Strong electrical background, including:

• AC/DC motor and drive troubleshooting

• PLC troubleshooting and programming

• Servo motor controls (Allen?Bradley, Siemens, etc.)

• Ability to read European and U.S. electrical schematics

• Mechanical repair experience (bearings, seals, gears, belts, pneumatic systems).

• Ability to operate computer?based monitoring and control systems.

• Ability to lift/move 50+ lbs with assistance and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and overhead work.

• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts in a continuous?run environment.

• Strong safety mindset and ability to complete pre?task analysis forms.

• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree or trade school certification.

• 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

• Experience in corrugated manufacturing.

• Experience calibrating pneumatic systems and maintaining industrial tools.

• Familiarity with OEM equipment standards and high?speed production environments.
