Job summary

Tyson Foods in Amherst, OH is seeking Industrial Maintenance Mechanics for the 2nd shift. Maintenance of the facility, power industrial trucks, and plant utilities will be performed with pay commensurate with experience.

Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months in industrial/general maintenance or be a graduate of a maintenance or HVAC training program, or hold a related degree. The role emphasizes safety, GMP compliance, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of industrial maintenance experience or general maintenance work documented in work history, or graduate of a maintenance training program, HVAC training program (Vocational or Trade schools) with documentation, or have a degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety, food safety, GMP policies.
• Proactive in daily plant operations as well as set up and/or breakdown.
• Work to maximize plant efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain product quality.
• Completes daily log sheets, communicates effectively, and reports unsafe conditions and/or other mechanical concerns.
• Assist in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.
• Replace parts accurately and consistently; lubrication, conveyor belt repairs, power train & bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement, fork truck & pallet jack maintenance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment in a timely manner.
• Willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
