Tyson Foods in Amherst, OH is seeking Industrial Maintenance Mechanics for 1st shift. The role pays $24.40 to $34.85 per hour, with overtime potential and a shift differential for 3rd shift.

As a Maintenance Generalist you will perform skilled maintenance and repair of plant equipment, manage preventive tasks, keep logs, and support plant efficiencies while adhering to safety and GMP policies. Candidates should have at least 6 months of mechanic experience or an industrial maintenance program

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the application or a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
• HVAC/R program or CIRO/CARO certification or ammonia system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Follows all safety, food safety, attendance, GMP policies.
• Maximizes plant efficiencies and reduces costs while maintaining product quality.
• Completes daily logs and communicates effectively; reports unsafe conditions and mechanical concerns.
• Maintains mechanical inventory and replaces worn parts.
• Lubrication, conveyor belt repairs, power train and bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement.
• Repair and diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment; operate under time constraints.
• Willing to work overtime or weekends as needed.

We are hiring immediately for Industrial Maintenance Mechanics at all experience levels! Pay will vary based on experience level, includes a shift differential increase for 3rd shift, and has potential for overtime. We currently have open positions for 1st shift.

Maintenance Generalist - 1st Shift - Full Time - Amherst, OH 44001

Maintenance Pay range - $24.40 to $34.85/HR(Pay commensurate with experience)

Maintenance Mechanics perform skilled work in the operation, predictive and preventative maintenance and repair of the facility’s real property, power industrial trucks, and plant utility systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Include, but are not limited to, the following

• The frequency of the following activities may vary according to the requirements of the job task assigned.
• Follows all company personnel safety, food safety, attendance, GMP policies.
• Proactive in the daily plant operations as well as set up and/or breakdown.
• Work to maximize plant efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain product quality.
• Completes daily log sheets, communicates effectively, and is proactive in recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and/or other mechanical concerns.
• Assist in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.
• Accurately and consistently change out parts.
• Lubrication, conveyor belt repairs, power train & bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement, fork truck & pallet jack maintenance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment in a timely manner.
• Must be willing and able to work effectively under time constraints.
• Must be willing and able to use measurement devices.
• Must be willing and able to perform electrical and mechanical predictive and preventative maintenance as tasked.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

FOR ALL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule if needed in a cold, wet, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 50 degrees.
• Must be willing and able to stand, sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel 67-100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to walk, talk and hear 67-100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to bend, squat and kneel 33-67% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to taste or smell 0-33% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to ascend and descend stairs 67-100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. 67-100% of the time, 50 lbs. 33-67% of the time and 100 lbs. 0-33% of the time.
