Position: 2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Claryville Facility) - Alexandria, KY

Location: Onsite

Requirements: 2 years of industrial maintenance experience and/or industrial maintenance education combined.

Maintenance technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), read blueprints, ladder logic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot machines and improve systems and processes.
2. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment including scales, dumpers, mixers, cookers, chillers, slicers, packaging machines, conveyors, palletizers, and wrappers.
3. Repair, modify, and improve facility and production equipment using proper techniques.
4. Understand and troubleshoot computer/PLC-controlled equipment, motor control systems, servo motors, pumping systems, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
5. Perform mathematical calculations as needed.
6. Provide corrective actions using root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
7. Fabricate and weld various metals (a plus).
8. Utilize the CMMS system for maintenance activities.
9. Perform work safely, following Tyson policies such as lock-out tag-out (LOTO), Arc-Flash, hot work permit, and confined space entry.
10. Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisors and Planners for continuous improvement.
11. Work in a team-focused maintenance culture emphasizing continuous improvement and customer service.
12. Work off shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
13. Have a basic understanding of OSHA regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and move up to 40 lbs.
• Work in wet, humid, cold, and hot environments, including refrigerated areas at 40°F.
• Stand or walk on hard floors for 8-12 hour shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 years of industrial maintenance experience and/or related education.
