Job description

MFG Maintenance Mechanic 2nd/3rd Shift (Finance)

Perform tasks related to preventative maintenance, mechanical machine repairs, inspection and testing of equipment, building maintenance, and specific projects. Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve plant performance in Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR), and our Customer 1st strategy. Demonstrate leadership aligned with our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles and uphold our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with high accuracy and precision
• Proficient in mechanical knowledge and skills in one or more maintenance classifications: electrical, welding and fabrication, utilities, and basic PLCs
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Strong sense of urgency during downtime
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Reliable and dependable
• Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to organize and define tasks with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in food manufacturing and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• 2+ years of maintenance mechanic experience or relevant technical training/certification
• Ability to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, structures, piping, and electrical systems
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill press, and milling machine for repairs or fabrication
• Troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment to ensure efficiency
• Complete work orders and handle emergency tasks as required
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area
• Utilize maintenance systems for daily tasks
• Operate material handling equipment safely
• Document work order information and completion
• Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs
• Participate in plant initiatives to minimize downtime and optimize operations
• Perform duties safely in a fast-paced environment
• Follow policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods meeting regulatory and company standards
