Job summary

International Paper (Des Plaines) is seeking a Mechanic/Electrician to perform preventive maintenance and quick-response repairs on production machinery. You’ll troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and ensure safe, reliable operation on the Des Plaines container line.

Qualifications include 3+ years in industrial manufacturing, PLC troubleshooting, and hands-on experience with FactoryTalk HMIs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• PLC troubleshooting, I/O diagnostics, and program changeouts.
• Experience with FactoryTalk or comparable HMI platforms; photo eyes, sensors, limit switches, and solenoids.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine preventive maintenance and repairs on production machinery to maximize uptime.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns; diagnose and resolve issues to keep plant operations on track.
• Troubleshoot across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Read, manage, and complete maintenance work orders with accuracy and follow-through.
