International Paper (Des Plaines) is seeking a Mechanic/Electrician to perform preventive maintenance and quick-response repairs on production machinery. You’ll troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and ensure safe, reliable operation on the Des Plaines container line.

Qualifications include 3+ years in industrial manufacturing, PLC troubleshooting, and hands-on experience with FactoryTalk HMIs.

Step into a pivotal role keeping production movingPicture this: it’s 3:00 p.m. at International Paper’s Des Plaines Container facility. You clock in, review prioritized work orders, and head to the line to run preventive checks. A photo eye signals intermittently—your multimeter confirms an I/O fault, and within minutes you’ve traced it to a loose connector. Later, you swap a gearbox on a conveyor and tweak an HMI screen so operators have clearer diagnostics.
