Job summary

International Paper's Newport Mill in Indiana is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to support electrical and automation work in an industrial setting. You will install wiring, repair components and assist with conveyors and converting machinery, collaborating within a team.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a 4-year electrical apprenticeship or an associated degree in Industrial Maintenance, with willingness to work all shifts and pass drug screenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Electrical Journeyman must have 4 years of electrical apprenticeship or helper experience, or an Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance.
• Must have one of: Industrial Technology degree; certificate from accredited college or trade school; two years Industrial maintenance experience.
• Willing and capable of working all shifts.
• Undergo a drug screen and periodic drug tests; work rotating shifts; overtime; holidays/weekends; wear safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Electronics and high-voltage/power distribution work.
• Operate AC/DC motors and drives.
• Work with control systems: DCS, PLCs, PC and analytical equipment.
• Install wiring and conduit for conveyors, programmable controllers and related machinery.
• Replace faulty electrical components (relays, switches, motors, proximity sensors).
• Assist industrial mechanic as needed.
