Job summary

Southern Champion Tray (SCT) in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a production assistant for the second shift. You will safely feed and pack product glued on the machine to maintain target run speeds and ensure quality output while following safety and Lean principles.

Responsibilities include feeding blanks, monitoring flow, preventing jams, packing cartons, maintaining proper case counts, and communicating with the Operator and Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 months related experience preferred.
• Must read and understand English documents and communicate directions.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Safely feed/pack product glued on the machine to acquire quality product at the desired target speed of each run.
• Remove blanks from pallet and place into the feed hopper while maintaining proper load heights.
• Observe blanks flowing through the machine, watch for quality and jams, and alert the Operator as needed.
• Notify the Operator before a new pallet of blanks is needed to maintain adequate supply.
• Pack cartons according to work orders, verify counts, and ensure proper fit.
• Maintain clean work environment and follow Food Safety and 5S standards.
• Communicate with Operator, Supervisor, and Quality Control staff.
