Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. in Durham, NC seeks a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a shop responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of trucks, containers, and heavy equipment. You will oversee a technician team, ensure safety compliance, and plan repairs to minimize downtime.

You will coach technicians, supervise daily activities, manage parts inventory, and work with management to optimize maintenance programs and budgets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• ASE Certifications: Diesel, brakes, electrical, HVAC, suspension/steering (as applicable).
• 3+ years in maintenance with heavy equipment.
• 1 year in a lead technician or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians to perform safe and timely repairs and maintenance.
• Monitor performance and redirect activities for efficiency.
• Report on performance and suggest process improvements.
• Supervise shop activities, conduct daily huddles, and manage performance/corrective actions.
• Inspect outside repairs for safety/compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Oversee inventory control and budget within approval levels.
