Job summary

Eaton’s FAB Welder position in Asheville, NC, second shift, is seeking an experienced welder capable of reading blueprints and performing fabrication to exacting standards. The role requires using manufacturing information and various instructions to produce parts and maintain equipment efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, welding certification, and demonstrated proficiency with calipers and measurement tools.

Qualifications

• Welding ability/knowledge required; welding demonstration may be required.
• Welding certificate or diploma from accredited institution.
• Experience reading calipers and tape measures/scales.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• Experience in fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions.
• Operate equipment/machinery to produce parts.
• Interpret work orders including: written oral, Kanban cards, and drawings.
• Maintain necessary tools and materials for continuous operation.
• Inspect final component against work specifications.
• Perform necessary operator maintenance on machining and fabrication equipment.
• Provide on-the-job training for new operators.
• Perform TPM and 5S+ responsibilities daily.
• Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers.
