Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a 2nd Shift Electronics Assembler to join the Life Cycle Sustainment Operations team in Elkridge, MD. You will plan, lay out, assemble, wire and solder electrical/electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Read schematics, interpret wiring diagrams, and install harnesses as part of a collaborative assembly team.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of related experience, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 2 years in mechanical or circuit card assembly
• Experience using hand tools, assembly equipment and safety gear
• Experience using a microscope for PCB assembly
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Obtain information to perform job assignments and report discrepancies
• Plan, lay out, assemble, wire and solder electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams to perform point-to-point assembly
• Follow wiring diagrams to install harnesses and components
• Work as part of an assembly team and keep the work area clean and orderly
• Construct harness boards and form wiring for diverse assemblies
• Maintain certifications such as Conformal Coating, PWA, paints/epoxies
• Operate hand tools, assembly equipment and safety gear
• Understand function of electronic/mechanical components
• Attend training for career development
