Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a 2nd Shift Electronics Assembler to build and repair circuit card assemblies, cable harnesses and related mechanical assemblies in Elkridge, MD. You will read schematics, solder, and wire components using a microscope and a range of hand tools while adhering to safety standards.

The role operates 3pm–12:30am; you’ll work with an assembly team, complete certifications, and contribute to a broad portfolio of mission systems. US Secret clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 2 years of mechanical or circuit card assembly and repair experience.
• Experience using a broad range of hand tools and safety equipment.
• Experience using a microscope to assemble/repair Printed circuit boards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain information to perform job assignments and report discrepancies.
• Plan, lay out, assemble, wire and solder electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams for point-to-point assembly.
• Install mechanical parts and harnesses as specified.
• Work as part of an assembly team to complete tasks.
• Lay out and construct harness boards for wiring and cables.
• Mix and apply bonding components and encapsulates.
• Perform product finishing and maintain certifications as required.
• Use a broad range of tools and safety equipment to perform tasks.
• Understand components such as resistors, diodes, capacitors, relays, etc.
• Attend training courses for knowledge and career development.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
