Job summary

Permobil is seeking a Dipping Associate for the 2nd shift in Belleville, IL. You will perform neoprene-based dipping tasks, maintain safety and quality standards, and support a fast-paced manufacturing line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be skill checked on 1 position within the assigned department within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• To create all neoprene-based products by stripping, poking, sorting, washing, pre-dipping, and inspecting according to quality cleanliness standards.
• Maintains efficiency of dipping operations by switching out mandrels during a rotational mandrel change and placing them in proper storage area; performing duties of leach line operator; assisting with draining, cleaning, and filling of tanks when necessary.
• Maintains quality standards of product by checking mandrels and racks for foreign material, water, and pieces or rubber at various points during dipping operations.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by operating all machinery safely, reporting hazards, complying with safety policies, and wearing protective gear.
• Maintain quality service by keeping error rates minimal and meeting performance measurements: quantity, accuracy, timeliness, thoroughness.
• Contributes to team effort by maintaining attendance and accomplishing related results.
• Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership.
• Emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.
