Job summary

Miller Transportation Group is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Technician for our Miller Truck Leasing division in Cinnamonson, NJ. The role involves maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of Class 1-8 vehicles, with emphasis on ThermoKing refrigeration units.

Qualified candidates will have fleet/diesel/heavy equipment experience and a CDL (or ability to obtain one with training). Work hours are Tue-Fri 2:00 PM–10:30 PM and Sat 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; compensation is strong with shift differential

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors.
• A valid CDL, or the ability to acquire a CDL with the assistance of our trainer.
• Hand tools are required.
• Experience working on ThermoKing refrigeration units is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles.
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes using company-supplied OEM software and warranty procedures.
• Diagnose and repair ThermoKing refrigeration units.
• Repair/replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments.
• Replace clutches and transmissions.
