Job summary

Miller Transportation Group is hiring a Diesel Mechanic Technician for our Miller Truck Leasing division in Florence, NJ. With over 100 years of experience and a large fleet, we offer a stable, family-owned environment where technicians can grow with a trusted regional leader.

You will perform preventative maintenance on Class 1–8 vehicles, diagnose engine fault codes, repair ThermoKing units, and service brakes, steering components, suspension, and transmissions.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors.
• A valid CDL, or the ability to acquire a CDL with the assistance of our trainer.
• Hand tools.
• Experience working on Refrigeration Units (ThermoKing primarily) is desired.
• Ability to work Monday - Friday from 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Diagnose and repair ThermoKing refrigeration units
• Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions
