Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Middletown, CT is seeking a Production Machinist for the 2nd shift to set up and operate machines producing precision turbine engine parts. Work is performed under supervision with reliance on blueprints, operation sheets, and drawings.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months of machining experience. Training for licenses may be required and a robust benefits package is provided by RTX.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6 months of machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate one machine tool or process equipment type; manage multiple tools within area to produce precision turbine engine parts.
• Follow verbal or written instructions, operation sheets and drawings; use milling, boring, grinding, turning, broaching and shaping machines.
• Perform bench, assembly and surface finishing operations such as deburring, blending, trimming and fitting; rivet/bond.
• Use media for cleaning/finishing; operate tumbling, grit blast, shot peen, polishing; apply masking and coatings.
• Use measuring instruments; operate computer–based records; perform routine servicing of equipment; maintain tools and fixtures.
• May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications.
