Cheney Brothers in North Carolina is seeking a Battery Technician to maintain and replace batteries powering warehouse equipment. You will ensure batteries are charged, swapped, and maintained safely to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.

Responsibilities include installing batteries, monitoring charge levels, inspecting for damage, keeping records, and proper disposal of batteries per guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous warehouse, maintenance, or industrial experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety and mechanical operations.
• Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Replace and install batteries in warehouse equipment according to safety procedures.
• Monitor battery charge levels and charging equipment for optimal performance.
• Inspect batteries for corrosion, leaks, or damage and report issues promptly.
• Maintain records of battery changes, maintenance activities, and inventory.
• Ensure proper disposal or recycling of used or damaged batteries.
• Perform basic cleaning and upkeep of charging stations and equipment.
• Follow safety policies, PPE requirements, and company guidelines when handling batteries.
• Assist maintenance or operations staff with other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
