Job summary

Asurion in Smyrna, TN is seeking a 2nd Shift Automation Engineering Technician to deploy, maintain, and optimize automated equipment across the Supply Chain network. This role bridges engineering design with daily operations to ensure robotics, vision systems, and conveyance operate at peak efficiency to support New Product Introductions (NPI).

In this hands-on role you will perform maintenance, PMs, and monitor key metrics such as OEE and UPH, while assisting with installations and testing,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or 2+ years hands-on automation experience.
• Experience with PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and conveyance.
• Knowledge of QMS, 5S, and root cause analysis.
• CAD skills (2D/3D) and data analysis with MS Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• System Upkeep: Maintain and repair automated equipment for safety and uptime.
• Preventive Care: Plan PM tasks, calibrations, and ESd checks per QMS.
• Performance Monitoring: Track OEE, UPH, availability, and yield.
• NPI Support: Assist installation and testing of new hardware/software.
