Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to independently maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of CNC, robotic, and automated equipment on the shop floor. You will address breakdowns, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, experience with PLC-controlled systems, and the ability to read drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting across rotating and precision equipment.
• Solid AC/DC electrical diagnostic skills.
• Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment (I/O, fault diagnostics, safe recovery).
• Proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with CNC equipment maintenance and automated production systems.
• Competent use of precision measurement tools and alignment equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving spindles, bearings, ball screws, gearboxes, and drive systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, sensors, interlocks, safety circuits, and VFDs.
• Perform PLC-based troubleshooting using I/O status, fault codes, and basic online monitoring.
• Recover and restart CNC and robotic systems following equipment faults or process upsets.
• Support robotic cells including tooling, alignment, and basic safety validation.
• Perform precision alignment, leveling, and calibration of equipment.
• Fabricate and repair components using manual machining, cutting, fitting, and welding.
