Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Controls Engineer for the 2nd shift (1 PM - 9 PM, M-F) in Spartanburg, SC. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and improve highly automated controls, robotic and welding systems using Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix/GuardLogix.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience and strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills to support plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
Minimum 2 years’ experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix, GuardLogix, PanelView Plus.
Electrical knowledge: Install hardware and wiring.
Program and debug of automated robotic welding, sealing, fastening and assembly systems.
Able to program PanelView (HMI) and PLC.
Strong problem solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

As needed design and program PLC, HMI, robots and other types of electronic or electrical manufacturing equipment.
Lead in the trouble shooting of malfunctioning equipment.
Continuous improvement activities such as cycle time reduction, standardization of existing equipment and incorporation of error proofing strategies.
