Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing, a leading automotive systems provider in Pontiac, MI, seeks an Automation Engineer for 2nd shift. You will design and program PLCs, HMIs, and robotic weld cells, leading troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years with Rockwell/AB CompactLogix or PanelView+. Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential. On-site role with potential overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
2+ years of experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix/GuardLogix/PanelView+ platforms.
Electrical knowledge to install hardware and wiring; design and debug automated systems.
Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

Design and program PLCs, HMIs, robots and related manufacturing equipment.
Lead troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment to restore operations quickly.
Drive continuous improvement: reduce cycle times, standardize equipment, add error-proofing.
